Państwo i Społeczeństwo / State and Society

Państwo i Społeczeństwo / State and Society is a peer-reviewed academic journal published by AFM Publishing House of Andrzej Frycz Modrzewski Krakow University. Established in 2001, the journal provides an interdisciplinary platform for scholarly research on public institutions, health systems, social structures, governance, education, management, communication, spatial development, and quality of public life.

Since 2026, Państwo i Społeczeństwo / State and Society has been published as an annual journal with continuous publication. Articles are published online on an ongoing basis after editorial acceptance, peer review, copyediting, and production, and are subsequently included in the annual volume.

The journal publishes articles in English and Polish. In line with its international development strategy, authors are strongly encouraged to submit manuscripts in English, which is the recommended language for new submissions.

State and Society is published in open access and does not charge authors any submission fees, editorial processing charges, article processing charges, page charges, colour charges, or publication fees.

Articles and issues of the journal are available in electronic form under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International License, CC BY-NC-ND 4.0.

The journal is included in the official list of scientific journals of the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education, with an assigned value of 40 points.
