Małgorzata Piasecka is Associate Professor at the Department of Pedagogy, Faculty of Social Sciences, Jan Długosz University in Częstochowa, Poland.

She holds a habilitation degree in social sciences in the discipline of pedagogy, a doctoral degree in humanities in the field of sociology, and a master’s degree in pedagogy.

Her research interests are situated within the cultural and social conditions of education, pedagogical innovation, education for creativity, imagination in education, and unconventional educational practices using the discourse of art and literature.

Her work includes interdisciplinary, comparative and biographical research, with particular emphasis on qualitative research strategies. She has published on imagination in contemporary education, dreams and biographies, educational spaces, utopia and heterotopia, European education, and the pedagogical meanings of autobiographical and symbolic narratives.

She cooperates with Polish and international academic centres within research projects and networks. Her international activity includes participation in conferences and congresses abroad, research stays in France, Peru, Romania, India and Ukraine, and active involvement in Erasmus+ academic exchange.

She serves as Head of the Department of Pedagogy and leads the Interdisciplinary Research Team “I, a Częstochowa Resident: At the Intersection of the Past and the Present”. She is also Editor-in-Chief of the journal Podstawy Edukacji.

Her academic service includes membership in national pedagogical committees and scientific councils, participation in university bodies, doctoral supervision, and work as a reviewer and committee member in doctoral and habilitation proceedings in social sciences, discipline of pedagogy.
