Jildiz Nicharapova is an Associate Professor in the Liberal Arts and Sciences Department at the American University of Central Asia in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan.
She holds a PhD in Political Science from the Institute of Political Science, Sciences Po Aix, Aix-Marseille University, as well as graduate training in comparative politics and international relations.
Her academic work focuses on international relations, Central Asia, regional integration and the role of major powers and international organizations in Eurasia. Her research interests include the Belt and Road Initiative, China and Russia in Central Asia, the Eurasian Economic Union, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, development studies, globalization and international organizations.
Her publications address issues such as regional cooperation and competition in Central Asia, Kyrgyzstan’s position in Eurasian integration processes, China–Central Asia relations, energy cooperation, logistics and diplomacy, and the political and security dimensions of regional organizations.
She also works in the field of education and research methods, including civic engagement, design thinking, gender-sensitive pedagogy, innovative teaching methods, soft skills and social innovation.
