Doctor of Medical Sciences, graduate of the Faculty of Nursing at the Medical Academy in Kraków. She completed postgraduate studies in psychopedagogical therapy. She holds a specialization in pediatric nursing, as well as qualifications in oligophrenopedagogy and palliative care. She has been affiliated with Andrzej Frycz Modrzewski Krakow University since 2009, initially as Acting Dean and Vice-Dean of the newly established Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences, and since 2017 as Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences. Since October 2024, she has served as Dean of the Faculty of Health Sciences, Collegium Medicum.
Since obtaining her doctoral degree in 2006, her scientific activity has been associated with the discipline of health sciences. Her research focuses on health-related quality of life and various aspects of nursing care, as well as psychosocial and ethical issues in nursing practice. She is the author of more than 130 articles published in peer-reviewed journals and in national and international monographs, and has served as scientific editor of numerous monographs. Her scientific achievements include publications in journals indexed on the Philadelphia List. As a result of her research work, she has validated tools used to assess the quality of life of patients with cystic fibrosis, emotional responses to transplantation among organ recipients, and the diagnosis of psychosocial burden in nursing work; these tools are used in studies conducted by other authors. She has served as principal investigator of research projects funded by the Ministry of Science and has authored programmes for undergraduate and postgraduate nursing education. She has participated in the organisation and implementation of European Union-funded programmes, such as bridging studies for nurses and development programmes for nursing studies, including the establishment of a modern practical training infrastructure, namely a medical simulation centre.
She currently serves as an expert of the Polish Accreditation Committee in the Medical Sciences and Health Sciences team. Her professional contribution to nursing has been recognised with numerous distinctions, including the Medal of the Commission of National Education (2015), the Silver Badge “Meritorious for the Self-Government of Nurses and Midwives” (2015), the Honorary Badge for Merits in the Development of Nursing (2016 and 2019), the Honorary Badge “For Merits in Health Protection” (2019), and the Bronze Cross of Merit (2020).
