Renata Szczepanik is Associate Professor at the Department of Social Pedagogy and Social Rehabilitation, Faculty of Educational Sciences, University of Lodz, Poland.

She serves as Head of the Department of Social Pedagogy and Social Rehabilitation at the Faculty of Educational Sciences, University of Lodz.

She is Editor-in-Chief of PROBACJA, a quarterly journal of the Polish Ministry of Justice. She is also a member of the Polish Criminological Society named after Stanisław Batawia and a member and secretary of the Social Rehabilitation Pedagogy Section of the Committee on Pedagogical Sciences of the Polish Academy of Sciences.

Her research interests include issues she describes as “convict criminology”, as well as prison pedagogy, social rehabilitation, and the methodology of field research.
