Martin Bílek is Professor and Head of the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Education at the Faculty of Education, Charles University, Czech Republic.

His academic work focuses on chemistry education and the didactics of science and technical subjects, including curriculum issues, science literacy, learning from graphical representations, research-oriented teaching, and environmental education.

His research also addresses the implementation of information and communication technologies in science and technology education, including computer-supported school experiments, the interaction of real and virtual learning environments, the use of the Internet in education, and the application of educational software.

He has extensive academic and international experience, including cooperation and research stays at universities and institutions in Germany, Poland, Slovenia, Lithuania, Spain, Latvia, Brazil and Taiwan.

In addition to his research and teaching activity, he has held academic leadership roles, including Vice Dean for Research, Vice Dean for Lifelong and Distance Learning, and Head of the Department of Chemistry and Chemical Education at Charles University.
