Emilia Malec-Zięba
Emilia Malec-Zięba is a graduate of the Faculty of Interior Design of the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow. Her doctoral dissertation, Interior Created by Light, was defended at the Faculty of Interior Design of the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow in 2006.
Her academic achievements include publications in renowned Polish journals and conference presentations in the fields of architecture and urban planning, and art.
Since 2004, she has been employed at Andrzej Frycz Modrzewski Krakow University, where she has worked as an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Architecture and Fine Arts. She served as the Dean’s Representative for the Interior Design programme from 2012 to 2018 and has been Head of the Interior Architecture Department at the Faculty of Architecture and Fine Arts since 2025.
Since 2026, she has also been employed at VIZJA University as an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Humanities and Arts.
She is a member of the Association of Polish Visual Artists (ZPAP) and the Association for Architectural Education (SEA).
Her research interests include interior design, architecture, design, art, human-centred design, environmental psychology, neurodesign, and interdisciplinarity.
