Krakowskie Studia Międzynarodowe/ Krakow International Studies is a peer-reviewed academic journal devoted to the study of contemporary international relations, with particular emphasis on political, military, legal, economic, and cultural transformations in both global and regional contexts.
Aims and Scope
Krakowskie Studia Międzynarodowe/ Krakow International Studies is a peer-reviewed academic journal devoted to the study of contemporary international relations, with particular emphasis on political, military, legal, economic, and cultural transformations in both global and regional contexts. The journal aims to provide a platform for in-depth reflection on the key challenges of the modern world, as well as to foster the integration of research conducted in Poland and abroad. The Editorial Board welcomes a wide range of theoretical perspectives – from realism and liberalism, through constructivism and critical approaches, to cultural and economic studies – provided they offer a meaningful contribution to the development of International Relations as an academic discipline. The journal publishes articles in Polish and English and accepts original works of high scholarly value grounded in solid theoretical and methodological foundations.
The thematic scope includes, in particular:
- processes, actors, and structures of the contemporary international order (states, international organizations, non-state actors),
- foreign policy and international security,
- regional studies with a particular focus on Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Middle East,
- cultural and civilizational dimensions of international relations,
- global economic processes and international political economy,
- international law and its impact on the practice of international relations,
- contemporary conflicts, dynamics of violence, and peace processes,
- migration, demographic change, and transnational social challenges,
- climate, energy, and technological issues shaping international relations.
The journal does not accept submissions that
- fall outside its thematic scope,
- are prepared in violation of the Author Guidelines,
- constitute review papers lacking original findings,
- reproduce or compile previously published work, including the author’s own (text recycling),
- have been previously published or are simultaneously under consideration elsewhere.
