Data Sharing and Reproducibility Policy
Research Data Sharing Policy
Krakowskie Studia Międzynarodowe / Krakow International Studies is committed to fostering transparency, academic integrity, and the broad dissemination of research findings. The journal encourages authors to make research datasets and empirical materials publicly available whenever legally, ethically, and contractually possible.
Commitment to Open Research
Sharing research data enhances the robust verification of empirical findings and enables the scholarly community to build upon existing research. The journal supports responsible open science practices, giving full consideration to situations where data access must be restricted for ethical, statutory, or privacy reasons, or to protect legally privileged information.
Authors are encouraged to make data available in a way that is transparent, durable, properly documented, and compliant with applicable legal requirements.
Data Repositories and FAIR Principles
Authors are recommended to deposit their empirical datasets in recognised, publicly accessible data repositories that align with the FAIR principles:
Recommended repositories include Zenodo, Figshare, Harvard Dataverse, Mendeley Data, as well as institutional repositories such as eRIKA.
Whenever possible, datasets should be deposited in open, non-proprietary formats, such as .csv, .txt, or .pdf, to support long-term digital preservation and machine readability.
Data Availability Statement
All submitted manuscripts must include a Data Availability Statement on the Title Page (which will be incorporated before the References section in the final published version). This statement must clarify whether and how the empirical data, source databases, or materials can be accessed.
Authors should use one of the following templates:
Data publicly available
The data supporting the findings of this study are openly available in [repository name] at [DOI or permanent URL].
Data available on request
The data supporting the findings of this study are available from the corresponding author upon reasonable request [specify the reason, e.g., to ensure anonymisation of research participants].
Third-party data
Restrictions apply to the availability of these data. Data were obtained from [third party, e.g., a relevant court or public authority] and are available [from the authors / at URL] only with the explicit permission of [third party].
Doctrinal analysis (no new data)
Data sharing is not applicable to this article as no new empirical datasets were created or analysed (purely doctrinal legal, statutory, or case-law analysis).
Data restricted due to legal/ethical reasons
The data are not publicly available due to [state specific legal, ethical, or privacy restrictions, e.g., professional privilege, confidential judicial case files, or identifiable human participant data under GDPR].
Data Citation
If authors use external datasets or share their own, the datasets must be formally cited in the text and included in the reference list according to APA 7th style. The reference should include the author(s)/creator(s), publication year, dataset title, repository name, and a persistent identifier such as a DOI or persistent URL.
