Copyright and Licensing

Authors retain copyright and full publishing rights to their articles published in Krakowskie Studia Międzynarodowe / Krakow International Studies. The journal supports transparent, lawful, and responsible dissemination of scholarly publications.

Author Rights and Publisher’s Rights

Authors retain copyright and grant the journal right of first publication, with the work simultaneously licensed under a Creative Commons licence that allows others to share the work for non-commercial purposes with an acknowledgement of the work's authorship and initial publication in this journal.

By submitting and publishing a manuscript in Krakowskie Studia Międzynarodowe / Krakow International Studies, authors grant the Publisher a non-exclusive licence to disseminate the published version of record through the journal’s website, indexing databases, institutional repositories, and other scholarly communication channels.

Creative Commons Licence

Articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution–NonCommercial–NoDerivatives 4.0 International Licence (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0), unless otherwise stated.

Starting with the 2025 volume, articles are published under the CC BY-NC-ND 4.0 licence. For the years 2020–2024, articles were published under the CC BY-NC-ND 3.0 PL licence.

Under this licence, readers and users may freely copy and redistribute the published article in any medium or format for non-commercial purposes, provided that the conditions listed below are met:

Attribution

The original author or authors must be properly credited, and a copyright notice must be retained.

Source citation

The original source of publication must be cited along with the persistent DOI identifier.

Licence link

A link to the applicable Creative Commons licence must be provided.

No derivatives

No modifications, adaptations, translations, or derivative works may be distributed without prior written permission.

Restrictions Under the Licence

The licence does not permit commercial use of the published material or the distribution of modified versions of the article without prior permission from the copyright holder and the Publisher.

Archival Policy & Access

Full-text volumes from 2014 onwards are entirely accessible on the journal's website. For volumes published between 2007 (starting with the first issue under the title Problemy Bezpieczeństwa) and 2013, which were distributed solely in print format, tables of contents are available on the journal’s website.

Print editions may be used under the statutory fair use provisions pursuant to Articles 23–35 of the Polish Act of February 4, 1994, on Copyright and Related Rights.

Third-Party Material

Any use of third-party material, including figures, tables, images, excerpts, or other copyrighted content, must comply with applicable copyright law and fair practice exceptions.

Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to use third-party material when required and for providing appropriate acknowledgements, licence information, or permission statements.
