Copyright and Licensing

Authors of articles published in Studies in Law: Research Papers retain copyright to their works without restriction.

Based on a signed Author’s statement submitted with the article, the Author grants the Publisher a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence, unlimited in time, to publish and make the work available in the Publisher’s repository, on the Journal’s website, and in other databases of scientific publications. The work is made available to the public under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0) licence (Attribution – Non Commercial – No Derivatives).

The Journal is published in Open Access. All articles are available immediately and free of charge, without registration or other access restrictions.

From 2025 onward, articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 4.0 International (CC BY-NC-ND 4.0) licence.

Articles published between 2020 and 2024 were made available under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivatives 3.0 Poland (CC BY-NC-ND 3.0 PL) licence.

Printed issues may be used under fair use in accordance with Articles 23–35 of the Polish Act of 4 February 1994 on Copyright and Related Rights , in particular Article 29: "It is permissible to quote, in works constituting a self-contained whole, fragments of published works, as well as published works of art, photographs, or small works in their entirety, to the extent justified by the purposes of the quotation, such as explanation, polemic, critical or scientific analysis, teaching, or the rights of the creative genre."
