This issue of European Polygraph brings together articles addressing both the theoretical and practical dimensions of polygraph examinations and deception detection. The contributions discuss the role of polygraph testing in public life, variability in scoring methods, psychological perspectives on deception detection, and psychophysiological aspects of respiratory activity during examinations. The issue also includes a literature review on ten years of practical application of polygraph testing, a report from the III International Polygraph Conference in Budapest, and newsletters summarizing recent activities of Polish polygraph associations.
